How to install FS-1 foot operated power switch?
1, Preparation before installation
1. Power off operation:
Before installation, it is necessary to cut off the main power supply of the equipment and use an electric pen to check the circuit to confirm that there is no current passing through, in order to prevent electric shock accidents.
2. Tools and materials:
Prepare wire stripping pliers, 1. screwdriver, insulation tape, and confirm that the wire specifications match the rated current of the switch (FS-1 supports 10A/250V AC loads)
3. Identify the wiring terminals
FS-1 foot switch usually has three terminals
·COM (Common Terminal): Connect the power input live wire
·NO (normal start): default disconnection, when pressed, it conducts with COM (used for device startup)
·NC (normally closed end): default conduction, disconnected when pressed (used for emergency stop function, FS-1 standard model is usually not enabled)
2, Wiring steps (taking controlling motor startup as an example)
1. Connect the power cord:
Peel off the insulation layer (about 8mm) from the live wire of the power supply, connect it to the COM terminal of the foot switch, and tighten the screw.
2. Connect device cables:
Lead out the wire from the NO terminal and connect it to the live input port of the controlled equipment (such as motors and hydraulic presses).
3. Zero line processing:
The power neutral wire is directly connected to the equipment neutral wire end without passing through the foot switch.
4. Grounding protection (if supported by the equipment):
Connect the grounding wire separately to the equipment grounding terminal to enhance safety.
3, Mechanical installation and fixation
Location selection:
Place the switch on a flat surface, avoiding areas with oil stains and water accumulation; It is recommended to fix the base for industrial scenarios (some models include installation holes).
2. Wire management:
FS-1 comes standard with 50cm wires, and wires that are too long need to be tied and fixed to prevent them from falling off due to trampling or pulling.
3. Protection configuration:
It is recommended to install protective devices in high-frequency usage scenarios (such as workshops) to prevent foreign objects from hitting the switch body.
4, Post installation testing
1. On off test
After restoring power, lightly press the switch and use a multimeter to measure the conductivity status between the COM and NO terminals. Confirm that the circuit is connected when pressed.
2. Insulation inspection:
Measure the insulation resistance between charged bodies (standard value>) 100MQ@500VDC )Ensure there is no risk of short circuit.
3. Load testing:
After normal no-load operation, gradually increase the equipment load to the rated power and observe whether the switch heats up or is abnormal.
5, Safety regulations
It is strictly prohibited to operate with wet hands: IP68 waterproof customized models should be selected for humid environments.
Regular maintenance: Clean the dust of mechanical components every quarter and check if the terminals are loose.
Emergency scenario: The emergency stop function needs to be connected to the NC terminal (if supported) and prominently marked.
